All About 2 NFT Trends – GameStop GMERICA and Afterparty Utopians

The world of crypto and NFT can be volatile, however, it has its share of enthusiasts who keep tabs on new developments. One such recent development is the launch of a new crypto titled Dogechain (DC). Interestingly, while the Dogecoin meme coin has lost value over the past week, Dogechain – which appears to be tapping into the popularity of Dogecoin – has surged.

Also in the NFT verse, new launches keep enthusiasts busy. One such launch is GameStop’s GMERICA NFT collection. Notably, GameStop only recently entered the NFT world as a marketplace. Another NFT trend right now is Afterparty. Let’s explore both.

GameStop – which serves as a marketplace for new NFT mints and launches – is expected to have its first NFT collection soon. The GMERICA NFT collection is built in collaboration with a digital artist called 1TZAH.

GameStop NFT tweeted about the launch of this collection amid listings of other projects like Herbertonic on its marketplace. Notably, the LimeWire NFT marketplace, which launched this year just like GameStop’s marketplace, has its own “Originals” NFT collection. At the time of writing, the LimeWire Originals collection has a floor price of US$375 and 1200 items are listed.

There is not much information about the GMERICA NFT collection at this time. It’s supposed to be GameStop’s first NFT collection. The video game retailer, which became a popular “meme stock” during the COVID-19 pandemic, entered the NFT space in July 2022.

NFT after party

Afterparty, as the name suggests, offers features like music experiences in a web 3.0 environment. The project bills itself as a “creator community platform” by acting as a bridge between content creators and fans. American musician Lauv reportedly used the Afterparty platform to connect with fans earlier this month. Rapper Yung Gravy’s event is now scheduled for September.

According to OpenSea, Afterparty’s NFT collection has a floor price of 5 ETH tokens at the time of writing with 309 items listed. The collection is called Afterparty Utopians, and the digital assets have been described as a “pass to all things Afterparty”.

Expensive NFTs

Neither LimeWire’s Originals nor Afterparty Utopians could match the success of names like Beeple in the NFT arena. Beeple and Pak are two of the best-selling NFT artists. GameStop’s GMERICA NFTs might also struggle to match Beeple’s artwork prices.

GameStop’s GMERICA NFT collection is the first on the market, for which it collaborated with the artist 1TZAH. It will launch soon and more details about the price will become clear then. The Afterparty Utopians NFTs currently have a floor price of 5 ETH tokens.
