NEW YORK (WABC) — Watch the full episode above and the trailer below.

In the next episode of ‘Faded away’Eyewitness News investigative reporter Kristin Thorne examines the disappearance of Corinna Paige Slusser, who went from being a small-town cheerleader in Pennsylvania to being a sex-trafficking ‘hostage’ in New York City, where she disappeared almost five years ago.

Police say someone reported seeing Slusser leaving the Haven Motel on Woodhaven Boulevard in Rego Park, Queens early one morning in September 2017. She was never seen again.

This is the story of a heartbroken mother’s determined search for her daughter, encountering dangerous pimps, mysterious extortion attempts and confusing social media clues along the way in her quest. of answers.

Is Slusser still alive, trapped in a sex trafficking nightmare? Her mother, Sabina Tuorto, hopes this investigation will help her find out what really happened to her daughter.

Below, Kristin Thorne explains in her own words why she started the new series, “Missing.”

It all started on September 13, 2021, the first day I covered the disappearance of Gabby Petito and met her distraught parents on Long Island. History consumed the next two months of my life.

Throughout this time, I spoke regularly with Gabby’s father, Joseph Petito. Most of what we talked about I never reported, but one thing he made clear to me was that he wanted the media to cover other missing people. He said they also deserved attention, and he was right.

I started watching data base of missing persons in the tri-state area and as I scanned the hundreds of faces, I thought not only of these people, but also of their families and friends and the ripple effect of the pain caused by their disappearance.

I thought, “Maybe I can help?”

I started calling private investigators around New York looking for cases to profile.

We first described the story of Leanne Marie Hausberg.

In our second story, we looked into the disappearance of Chelsea Michelle Cobo.

In our third story, we investigate the disappearance of Corinna Paige Slusser. Watch it above.
