Fans were blown away by this incredible artwork of Sebastian Stan as Luke Skywalker for The Mandalorian.
Sebastian Stan is easily one of the biggest movie stars in Hollywood today. A longtime mainstay of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, he’s portrayed Bucky Barnes/The Winter Soldier in a slew of MCU installments, starting in 2011. Captain America: The First Avenger.
He reprized his role in 2021 when he co-starred with Anthony Mackie on Disney Plus’ The Falcon and the Winter Soldier and when he voiced the character in an animated series What if…?.
While fans were excited to see him return to his most famous role on the Disney streaming service, there’s also a lot of talk about him appearing in another Disney Plus series. And it’s none other than the Star Wars spin-off The Mandalorian.
The stories and rumors of Stan portraying a young Luke Skywalker are legendary at this point, and it’s inspired a ton of fan art in the process. On that note, allow us to revisit and enjoy an amazing piece today.
Sebastian Stan becomes Luke Skywalker in The Mandalorian fan art
This awesome piece from the digital artist BossLogic was first released in 2020 when Season 2 of The Mandalorian was once again generating conversations about Luke Skywalker, and it became a constant reminder of Sebastian Stan’s beauty in the role.
Of course, the reason so many fans think Stan would be perfect for the role is because of his uncanny resemblance to Mark Hamill (who, of course, portrayed Luke in the original Star Wars movies) and this artwork highlights the resemblance of the couple.
Is Sebastian Stan in The Mandalorian Season 3?
The Reason Fans Talked About Sebastian Stan’s Potential Appearance In The Mandalorian season 3 is due to the fact that, through the use of some awesome CGI, the show included an aged Mark Hamill the previous season when Luke made an unexpected appearance (and again in Boba Fett’s Book).
Naturally, CGI of this magnitude would be impractical for a long-term project, so the internet has spoken, with many fans suggesting that Lucasfilm should make a Luke Skywalker prequel starring Stan in the lead role due to his resemblance to a young Mark Hamill. (or make it appear in The Mandalorian season 3).
There’s a chance of that happening in the future, especially since Hamill and Stan are well aware of their resemblance, with the The Falcon and the Winter Soldier actor commenting recently “never say never” when asked about the possibility of doing so. After all, anything can happen in the Star Wars universe.
Sebastian Stan most recently appeared on Hulu’s Pam and Tommy alongside Lily James.
