But the context of building a career based on her is not only surprising but also daring. Fortunately, some young creatives from Bangladesh have embarked on this challenging and inspiring career. “Thoughts of Shams,” Shams’ original idea, set a shining example of successful online content creation through Facebook and YouTube. Personal life of Bangladeshi YouTuber Shams

The woman behind Thoughts of Shams is known to everyone as Shams; His full name is Shams Afroz Chowdhury. His relatives call him Prova.

Shams, a daughter of Comilla, passed the HSC in 2009 with the GPA-5 and was admitted to the BBA at a private university. After her diploma, she joined a private bank in 2013 for an internship.

In 2018, this deserving student completed her MBA at Dhaka University. Early in his career, Shams taught at a private English-speaking school.

Although her journey of content creation and married life began together, neither of them ever stood in the way of each other.

The story of Shams becoming a content creator

During his MBA, Shams continued to prepare for BCS and banking jobs. Even after repeatedly applying for jobs, there was no response out of nowhere as expected. Instead, she had to go home disappointed with each interview.

While working in a private English school, she did not get a proper assessment of her work. These situations ultimately made Shams anxious for her career.

On August 13, 2017, she created a Facebook page called “Thoughts of Shams” and started writing about various inconsistencies in the company. One day a sudden thought occurred to her, what if she was making videos with her written content! With this in mind, she started making videos mixing a lot of humor into her written content. On January 18, 2018, she opened a YouTube channel with the title “Thoughts of Shams”.

Shams currently has a YouTube channel with 430 kilos of subscribers and a Facebook page with 2.3 million followers.

Shams’ thoughts and style of making fun videos

Shams alone played all of the characters in the funny Thoughts of Shams videos. It decorates well-known characters in society like parents, siblings, relatives, neighbors, friends, etc. with pure humor. Each video contains a positive message, which prompts the viewer to deal with various unwanted situations.

Among the contents, “Block’s Story” is the first to attract the most viewers. Towards the end of 2019, a video titled “Amra Kono Shadharon Bongsher Na” about onion price hikes spread across social media as well as broadcast media.

In October 2019, Shams got the Silver Button from YouTube for getting a lakh of subscribers. Thus, she became an influencer in 2020 by working with several local brands.

Thoughts of Shams’ most popular YouTube video is “Ludu with Family,” which has so far garnered 3.5 million views. For her viewers, she is now known by her popular characters like Amnajan, Shamsu, Kulsum, Fuppi, Tuni.

Final words

The success of Thoughts of Shams did not come overnight. With only 100 subscribers in a year, the channel was on the verge of shutting down. But on her mother’s advice, Shams Afroz continued the job she loved. In three years, Shams had a total of 100 million views on his YouTube channel. This smiling content creator believes that real success in life is doing love work the right way all the time.
