TamJai International expands into the metaverse and launches an NFT collection to benefit the Hong Kong art scene


Hong Kong-based F&B chain TamJai International will launch its first-ever “Souper Hero” NFT collection consisting of over 10,000 pieces of NFT, while the brand will also create a hub on The Sandbox’s metaverse where avatars and NFT items created by the members of the community will be highlighted.

The F&B Group said in a statement that its NFT “Souper Hero” collection will launch on June 19, 2022. The collection, created by local comic artists such as Wong, Kam Siu-man, Big Y and Chow Siumou, will consists of four series including TamJai Topping Series, TamJai JehJeh Series, SamGor Topping Series and SamGor Character Series. A total of 10,020 NFT coins will be minted, of which 1,000 are reserved for whitelisting with the presale scheduled for June 8, 2022 and 20 for auction.

The collection will be available on the NFT Artzioneer marketplace which accepts fiat currency like credit cards. Additionally, each NFT is priced at HK$500. TamJai International has declared that art in all its forms should be accessible to everyone. Owners of NFTs are also entitled to a variety of privileges, such as a free bowl of rice noodles with two toppings, free VIP membership to TamJai or SamGor, and invitations to private events. Owners can also earn bonus points to redeem rewards, as well as a wide range of benefits.

The brand will also donate all net proceeds from the “Souper Hero” collection to the Hong Kong Arts Center (HKAC) “Out of the Cube” project to support local digital artist communities and foster training and education. in long-term digital art. Artists will be invited to join the Creator Grooming program, a regular program of the “Out of the Cube” project organized by HKAC to hone their skills in creating digital art.

Besides the NFT collection, TamJai International will also be hosting a metaverse area at HKAC, hosting a series of digital art creation workshops given by professional artists from The Sandbox. TamJai International is also leading the way in building its “Edutainment Entertainment Hub” on its LAND in The Sandbox metaverse where avatars and NFT items created by community members will be showcased. The hub will become a platform for NFT holders to participate in Mixian-themed mini-games. NFT items created by community members will be listed on The Sandbox Marketplace as TamJai voxel NFT collection. Winners will be rewarded with the native SAND token of The Sandbox.

As an iconic part of the brand, TamJai International will also be showcasing their waitress uniforms in the metaverse. In its uniform design contest on the Metaverse, artists and fans can customize their 3D NFT avatars, ranging from mushroom man Enoki to virtual waitresses.

Ahead of the launch of the NFT collection, the company said on TamJai Yunnan Mixian’s Facebook page that the brand is on the verge of a transformation. The post added that TamJai International plans to take customers’ casual dining experience to a “whole new level” with the TamJai Yunnan Mixian and TamJai SamGor Mixian brands.

Apart from its metaverse debut, TamJai International has also opened two new TamJai SamGor brands in Singapore.
