The club recovers the use of the main building | Worthing F.C.

We are delighted to announce that the main building – located on Woodside Road – will be reintegrated into the club’s facilities footprint in the near future.

The building, overlooking Woodside Road, was for several decades the main bar and clubhouse, serving both match days and private functions. Since 2013, it has been leased to Ultimate U Fitness, which operates as a health, fitness and wellness center.

However, the club has restructured its agreement with Ultimate U Fitness, with the club now permanently occupying half of the building and on Saturdays the entire building to accommodate match day and private hire needs. Ultimate U Fitness will continue to operate as usual, in its new demise.

The development of the building will be done in 2 phases.

Paul Crane, Managing Director, explained: “The first phase will provide more indoor coverage on matchdays, with tables and chairs for FanZone bar patrons as well as additional toilet facilities.” “It will be operational as soon as we have the suitable room, we estimate within the next two weeks”.

“Phase 2 plans are still being worked on, but will likely include more dedicated hospitality and bar facilities for match days and private events.”

Club chairman Barry Hunter added: “This change is working for the club on so many levels. Including additional interior space and a new source of income. It will also bring back part of the club that has been such a social hub for much of our history.

He continued: “The timing of Phase 2 will depend on our available funding, once we achieve our necessary ground capacity upgrade for NLS. So we may have to remain patient for a while, but the important outcome is that we regain use of the building in the club, forever.”

“I would like to personally thank Dan Aguilera, owner of Ultimate Fitness, for his support and understanding in making this new arrangement a reality and we look forward to continuing our strong partnership.”
