University of Phoenix Social Media Marketing Professional Development Course Accelerate Skills Development

PHOENIX–(COMMERCIAL THREAD) –The great resignation continues to be part of today’s workforce landscape as many working adults are ready to change their career direction and strategy. During National Career Development Month, the University of Phoenix shares that it has expanded its support for independent learning and in-demand skills with new social media marketing Professional development course. These courses are designed to help busy adults develop professional skills in growing fields in a short time.

Professional development courses provide learners with skill building opportunities to save time and money outside of a traditional university course load.

According to Emsi Burning Glass, a leader in labor market analysis, there have been nearly 19,000 unique job postings for positions related to social media marketing in the past 12 months. There was a 75% increase over a year ago; with 2,371 unique social media marketing related jobs in October 2020, to 4,143 in October 2021. The new social media marketing track is mapped to in-demand skills that employers frequently post in job descriptions, as identified by Emsi Burning Glass. These skills include creating social media marketing campaigns, creating content, analyzing, collaborating with top social media platforms and more.

“The course is designed to help people gain new social media marketing skills that they can add to their CVs in just a matter of weeks,” said Mukund Sudarsan, senior vice president of professional development at the University of Phoenix. “These courses are unique in that they align with in-demand skills and professional industry certification exams that can help participants demonstrate the professional skills needed to effectively manage social media platforms.”

The track, which contains two courses, can also prepare individuals to take a related industry certification exam. The University’s uncredited professional development courses are 100% online, self-directed, and typically last around 30 hours, so learners can complete them on their own schedule.

Learners can review and complete the assessments as many times as they want to make sure they understand the key concepts and demonstrate the new skill. After successfully completing a course, participants can also present their new skills to employers by sharing a certificate of completion.

The catalog of professional development courses continues to grow, with content in digital marketing, non-clinical healthcare, information technology and virtual education.
